    Job Title: Visitor & Events Specialist

    Reports To: President & CEO

    Job Overview:

    The Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) is seeking to fill the part-time position of Visitor & Events Specialist. The Visitor & Events Specialist is responsible for overseeing visitor and event needs for the organization. Other key duties include event planning, fundraising, marketing, relationship building, and tourism. The position reports directly to the President & CEO. The Chamber currently has an active membership of 175+ members and financially benefits from hotel occupancy taxes. The Chamber looks to grow its membership along with increasing visibility and awareness through visitor and events in the coming year.


    Professional Qualifications:

    • Associate or bachelor's degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Event Planning, or related field preferred
    • 2 - 3 years of chamber of commerce, tourism, hospitality, event planning, or marketing experience recommended
    • Strong organizational abilities including budgeting, deadlines, delegating, multitasking, planning, problem solving, program/event development, reporting, task facilitation, and time management
    • Knowledge of fundraising, negotiating, and sponsorship strategies
    • Skills and abilities to interface, engage and collaborate with businesses, volunteers, and visitors within the greater Albion area
    • Ability to maintain a members-first approach
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
