Shakespeare Tryouts

On September 18 of this year ACT II Community Theatre will be sponsoring "Shakespeare on Superior". We are planning on having outdoor performances downtown during The Festival of the Forks. These performances will be our first of four shows planned for the upcoming show season of 2021 and 2022. We are asking anyone interested in performing Shakespeare to step forward and volunteer. Our plan is to have several readings of plays/scenes with two scheduled performances. First show is at 11 A.M. and the second 2:00 P.M on September 18. These performances will be outside under a 10x20 tent. Performances are completely actor driven which means you will be responsible for choosing your own scripts, directing, rehearsals, sets, costumes etc. and the scenes can be single or multiple actors. If you are interested in participating dust off those old scripts and get ready. We will hold auditions where you are asked to do a scene etc of your performance. Tryout Schedule: At this time tryouts will take place at Bohm 2 small theatre at 201 South Superior. Show up at any time during the times listed below for tryouts. For those who have volunteered to work backstage please attend one of the tryouts as well. June 9 - 6 P.M. - 8 P.M. June 12 - 11 A.M. - 2 P.M. Rehearsal Schedule July 21 - 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. July 21st is also the rehearsal that you need to advise me of what, if any, needs you have for your scene. Bring a copy of your script as well so we can make a copy. August 14 - 11 A.M. - 2 P.M. August 21 - 11 A.M. - 2P.M September 13 - 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. September 15 - 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. September 16 - 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. Full dress rehearsal Performances September 18 11 A.M. Curtain 2 P.M. Curtain Strike set after 2nd show If you are unable to attend all rehearsals please let me know. I am willing to work with you.
