This Legislative Forum is an opportunity for both communities to come together to hear what is in the cards that may affect Michigan citizens, businesses, and employees. A presentation will be given by both the U.S. and Michigan Chamber of Commerce. Attendees will hear from Ryan Gleason, Senior Manager of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber's Great Lakes Regional Office and Mike Alaimo, Senior Director of Legislative & External Affairs at the Michigan Chamber.
Gleason will present a federal update from the U.S. Chamber focusing on what has happened on Capitol Hill in Washington DC this year, the Chamber's priorities, trade policy related to Michigan, and a political update going into the 2026 midterm elections. Alaimo will speak on the budget, which will have a focus on the decoupling tax structure and road funding. He will also share an update from the first half of the year for major issues in divided government, including ESTA and minimum wage, road funding rhetoric, permitting reform, carbon capture and energy re-write.
