Wednesday, March 25 Movie, "Anthropocene, In 2016, a team of scientists known as the Anthropocene Working Group,= recommended a formal declaration of the end of Earth’s Holocene epoch, stating that the world is now in the Anthropocene epoch — a time when humans now change the Earth more than all the planet’s natural processes combined. This film documents global examples of incredible human activity. 7 p.m., downtown Bohm Theatre.
The 50th anniversary of Earth Day doesn't take place until April, but Albion College starts the celebration in March, thanks to a major gift from Bruce Harper, '67, and his wife Jane. The Harpers gave more than $100,000 to Albion College for climate change education and action, and to commemorate Earth Day. All events are free and open to the public.
