Author and historian Linda Hass will return to the the History Speaker Series with quilter Diane Washington to discuss the pros and cons of codes used in quilt patterns in aiding those escaping to freedom on the Underground Railroad. Linda's talk will correlate with her research on the Underground Railroad in Jackson and Calhoun Counties. Accompanying Linda will be her friend, Diane Washington, of the group Young People of Purpose, who will be displaying a modern Underground Railroad quilt her group recently completed at Jackson's MLK Center.
