SUMMARY:Albion NAACP 50th Freedom Fund Banquet
DESCRIPTION:Get your tickets now for the Albion Branch NAACPs 2023 50th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday\, October 14\, 2023 at 6:00pm in Albion College's Upper Baldwin Hall.\n\n \n\n \n\nTogether\, we will break bread\, hear from guest speaker Dr. Pamela L. Pugh\, President of Michigan's Board of Education\, and look to the future. Dr. Pugh brings 25 years of invaluable experience as a public health expert and a dedicated advocate for environmental justice. Her career has been marked by transformative achievements and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Michigan residents. Dr. Pugh's outstanding contributions have garnered national recognition\, including two Dr. Montague Cobb Awards from the NAACP for her achievements in social justice\, health education and promotion\, fundraising\, and research. She remains dedicated to advocating for underfunded communities and addressing exposure risks\, especially in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now\, Dr. Pugh seeks to represent the great people of Michigan in the United States Senate. Her candidacy stems from a deep-rooted belief in standing up for the people\, fighting for our democracy\, our children\, and our future. Dr. Pugh's remarks will embrace our mission and give voice to stand against the powers of injustice and reinforce the significance of thriving together.\n\n \n\nThe NAACP's fight for equal rights without discrimination based on race\, requires both spiritual and financial resources. The Banquet is our major fundraiser. The money it raises supports all the initiatives the Albion Branch NAACP undertakes\, many of which directly impact our youth. This year the branch awarded scholarships\, sponsored the Harrington 5th Grade Graduation and Back to School Event and many more positive community initiatives. Your generous donations help make these initiatives possible!\n\n \n\nWe give thanks for your past donations and look forward to your support of the 2023 Freedom Fund Banquet as we continue to promote civil rights and social justice for all people. Please use the enclosed form and envelope for your contributions. In order to be listed in the program\, all donations must be received by October 9th\, 2023. #thrivingtogether
