About the Cardboard Classic |
Albion is blessed with
17 parks, several of which are along the Kalamazoo
River. One of them, Victory Park, has a wonderful
hill which has provided delightful sledding to
generations of Albionites. Albion's first Cardboard
Classic Sled Race was held in 1991 with fifteen
participants. Last year's Classic featured over 100
entries from the Albion area and across the State of
Michigan. Entries are as elaborate as a Cinderella's
coach complete with horses made of corrugated
materials and as simple as a cardboard box.
Spectators come from as far away as New Jersey! The
Cardboard Classic is open to children and adults
(age 3 and up) and is great fun for the entire
family, as a participant or a spectator. And there
are no entry or admission fees. |
